About Ricardo

I built the method I needed when I was performing smaller.

For years, I believed advancement belonged to people who naturally understood the version of professional belonging around me: the sports conversations, the family shorthand, and the cultural familiarity I could not manufacture. I interpreted that difference as a deficit, edited myself, and performed smaller than my capability.

The shift came when I stopped trying to become more relatable and began taking ownership of my own story, decisions, and results. My experience became evidence. My personality became an advantage. Doors opened because I finally understood the value I was bringing into the room.

QARETE is the method I wish I had then. It helps LGBTQ+ professionals turn what they have lived, learned, and accomplished into career power without becoming someone else first.

The belief behind the work

Your difference is not a deficit to correct.

You do not need to learn the sports references, copy somebody else’s leadership personality, or sand down the parts of yourself the workplace has not learned to recognize. You need a way to make your existing value visible, credible, and actionable.

Evidence before self-judgment

Your track record deserves to be examined before doubt gets to interpret it.

Visibility without performance

Being understood does not require becoming louder, less queer, or less yourself.

Power with context

Workplace relationships and structural bias belong in the strategy, not in a footnote.

Action with choice

A next move is deliberate, timed, and yours to make—not another demand to prove yourself.

FAQ

About the work

What experience does Ricardo bring?

Ricardo brings more than fifteen years of Fortune 500 execution across strategy and operations, alongside lived LGBTQ+ experience and the practical method he built from both.

Why does QARETE focus on LGBTQ+ professionals?

Because workplace recognition is not neutral. Self-editing, disclosure decisions, cultural familiarity, and structural bias can change how contribution is seen. QARETE addresses that reality without treating it as the client’s fault.

Is QARETE therapy?

No. QARETE is practical, identity-aware career coaching and execution strategy. It is not therapy, generic career advice, or inspiration without action.
